While browsing the stalls at Dublin Comic Con this year I came across a unique handmade beauty company called Soap Pretty. I was delighted to hear that their products are cruelty free, vegan and made in Ireland.
What caught my eye was their spellbinding (pardon the pun!) branding. The two ladies who run Soap Pretty were dressed as Hogwarts students and their stall was set up as if it were a wizarding version of Lush!
I could picture them selling their lotions and potions on Diagon Alley!
Upon purchasing this product I will admit that I was somewhat put off by the size of the pot. It’s very small, like the little jam jars you get at a hotel breakfast. Although, I soon realised that the reason the pot was so small was because this product gives you a lot of bang for your buck! It’s incredibly rich and a little really does go a long way with this little one.
The product itself has a consistency similar to coconut oil, it melts like a soft butter when you warm it up with your fingers and is easy to apply to the skin. The healing ingredients that make up this product smell so good and are also very helpful for dry or irritated skin.
The list includes: Calendula oil, avocado oil, Vitamin E, hemp seed oil, lavender and tea tree essential oils. I will note that this product does smell mostly like lavender but to me that is a plus, as I adore the scent and also find it comforting when applying it to my skin. However, the scent does disappear and become very slight once you apply the product to your skin.
I have been using this product for over a month now and have barely created a dent in the jar, as you only need to use a very small amount when applying it. I have combination skin with some very dry patches, especially when I get out of the shower, my skin feels tight and sore. I usually use this product straight after a shower and it is very hydrating and leaves my skin feeling soothed and soft.
- The product is compact and easy to use. Perfect to keep in your handbag!
- It’s cruelty free, vegan and free of any nasty chemicals.
- It smells amazing and makes my skin feel soothed and hydrated.
- It’s perfect for anyone with dry or irritated skin, especially for eczema, acne, psoriasis, rashes, scrapes etc.
- If you don’t like the scent of lavender, this may not be for you.
If I recall correctly, I paid €10 for this product at comic con. However, I cannot find this product on their website currently so I can’t confirm.
Just to note: I will absolutely be re-purchasing this when I run out!
As I mentioned previously this does not seem to be featured on their website currently but you can contact them on facebook for further details and browse their Etsy page for more amazing handmade products!
